Hence, I advocate a feminist orientation not only to elevate the visibility of gender as an analytical and structural feature of social relations, but also to apply advances in feminist theory to the analysis of power and interconnected hierarchies. The book attempts a more inclusive and holistic analysis that especially illuminates features of globalization that are missing or underdeveloped in existing accounts.
